Alex Tuchman has performed solo and collaborative recitals in the United States, Europe, and Asia.  His performances have included appearances at Steinway Hall in New York, Mixon Hall in Cleveland, the University of Music Franz Liszt in Germany, Earl Cameron Theatre in Bermuda, and Beijing Central Conservatory in China.  He has been a guest soloist with orchestras including Camerata New York and the Bermuda Philharmonic.

 

A dedicated collaborator, Mr. Tuchman has performed chamber music recitals with the Callisto Quartet, cellist Eliza Fath, and pianists Eteri Andjaparidze and Santiago Lomelín.  Highlights of his festival engagements have included the Apollo Music Festival in Minnesota, Oracle Piano Society in Arizona, and Mannes Sounds Festival in New York.

 

Mr. Tuchman received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he studied with Antonio Pompa-Baldi.  He also studied with Eteri Andjaparidze at NYU Steinhardt and Pavlina Dokovska at the Mannes School of Music, where he was awarded the Josef Fidelman Performance Prize.  He completed his precollege studies with Irina Edelman at Mannes Prep and received his early musical education from Paul Zeigler and Peggy Atchison.

Based in New York City, Mr. Tuchman has served on the faculty at New York University as Adjunct Instructor in Piano Studies and has given masterclasses at New York University and Western Connecticut State University.  He maintains an active private studio and is on the music theory faculty at Mannes Prep.  Mr. Tuchman is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Bermuda Piano Festival.
